Searching on the internet, I found that there is a recurrent grapic card problem on vaio fz series. Is it possible to fix this problem? I have looked all over for problems, and apparently Vaios have a lot of problems related to the trackpad. Maybe the trackpad simply disabled?
Also take a look at the trackpad software installed on your laptop. The problem is that when I power up with or without battery the screen displays Vaio logo momentarily and ever so quickly fades away. I cannot even get output to an external monitor to view bios or the os. Take a closer look at the laptop screen after it fades away.
Can you see a very faint image? If yes, try replacing the inverter board. Both the keyboard and touchpad have stopped working, although F2 and F8 work when booting. New hard drive fitted with fresh install, this did not help. Not a very common model apparently. Might as well do an overhaul if I can get the relevant manual. Look for two screws securing the DVD drive on the bottom of the laptop. If you not sure which screws securing the DVD drive, try removing all screws located under the drive.
After that try pulling the DVD drive from the laptop. Before you buy a new screen, you should check connection between the video cable and LCD screen. This sounds like a problem with the LCD screen. If you can, try reseating the video cable on the back of the screen first. There should be a different model number for this laptop.
Look at the lower right corner of the screen. What does it say? Look in the lower right corner of the display. Your description is not very clear. If I understand correctly, your laptop turns on but all you getting is a black screen. Can you see any faint image on the screen at all?
