Change resolution in windows vista

When you set your monitor to a screen resolution that it can't support, the screen will go black for a few seconds while the monitor reverts back to the original resolution. Windows 7 More Support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, We recommend you move to a Windows 11 PC to continue to receive security updates from Microsoft. Notes: When you change the screen resolution, it affects all users who log on to the computer.

Clear instructions. I also tried the system restore, twice actually, just to be sure. Picked dates since before i even heard of the demo release, but it still didn't work. The display resolution is still off enough to leave my monitor blank. Was this reply helpful?

Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. Hello there! Still no display. The greater the resolution you select the more fine the display will become. If you want to make the Vista environment more legible everything bigger then use the slider to select a lower resolution than your current one. After dragging the slider to your required resolution click on the Apply button.

Windows Vista will then change the resolution and prompt you if you want to keep that specific resolution. If you are happy then simply click OK, if you cannot see the screen or it is illegible then wait for 15 seconds and your old resolution will be restored.
